Kawaboomga

Kawaboomga- 4th in 1.20 Gowran 14/02/2026

Kawaboomga made a pleasing return to action at Gowran in the Grade 2 Red Mills Trial Hurdle. Less we forget this horse showed huge potential as a novice hurdler last season before injury cut his season short. He finished two and a half lengths behind Kopek Des Bordes in a hot maiden hurdle at Leopardstown at their 2024 Christmas festival. On his second run in Ireland he won his maiden hurdle, beating William Munny at Fairyhouse.

Those maiden hurdles could not have worked out better with Kopek Des Bordes and William Munny finishing first and second respectively in the supreme novice hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Kawaboomga showed up well here before getting tired in a slowly run race on heavy ground. It will be interesting to see where Willie Mullins runs him next as this horse is full of untapped potential.

Califet En Vol

Califet En Vol - 1st in 4.05 Kempton 21/02/2026

Califet En Vol won on his fourth run over fences at Kempton. This win came off the back of three runs around Cheltenham where he ran well without winning. He jumped well and stayed the two and a half miles distance strongly. The handicapper has raised him five pounds to a mark of 141 which still looks good. I would like to see Califet En Vol bypass the Cheltenham Festival and target the three mile handicap chase on Grand national day at the Aintree Festival

Last season over hurdles, Califet En Vol won the Sidney Banks hurdle at Huntingdon. He had No Questions Asked and Jax Junior in second and third place that day. All three horses have done well over fences this season. Califet En Vol was tried in the Grade 1 novice hurdle at Aintree on his final run last season. He ran well considering he raced too freely and just got tired from the final hurdle to the finishing line. He is more settled over fences and should get the three miles on a flat course like Aintree.

Hi Reader What a week at Cheltenham. The 2026 Festival delivered everything we expect from the sport’s biggest stage – drama, shocks, and a handful of standout performances that made the festival worthwhile. Across the four days, our selections produced a strong +17.2pts profit and £860 net gain. Below is a quick breakdown of how the action unfolded. Day 1 – Johnnywho Turns the Tide A tough start, but Johnnywho’s 12/1 win delivered £720 profit and flipped the day into the black. Leave of...
