Hi Reader Our April review finishes with four notable eye‑catchers, all showing the class and progression required to land major races next season. Kap VertKap Vert - 1st in 3.35 Ayr 18/04/2026Kap Vert had the Scottish Grand National won before the third last fence. He was travelling well with Sean Houlihan at pains to not go on too soon. Kap Vert was having only his fifth run over fences and first run on heavy ground! He stayed the four miles well and jumped great throughout the race. This horse is only a six year old and could progress up the ratings into an Aintree Grand National horse next season. The handicapper has raised him seven pounds to a mark of 136. He has lots of options next season and a good ground Welsh National like we got this season would be ideal for Kap Vert. Cosmic ConnectionCosmic Connection - 1st in 1.45 Sandown 25/04/2026Chris Gordon must be excited looking forward to next season with Cosmic Connection. He won the Novices' Championship Final Handicap Hurdle at Sandown impressively carrying top weight. A good novice season with three wins from four runs with his only defeat coming at Chepstow behind Hurricane Pat. Cosmic Connection ends this season rated 138. He looks like a proper second season novice hurdler to follow for the 2026-2027 season. The fact he has won at Sandown and Chepstow bodes well for this horse getting up the hill at Cheltenham. A shot at winning the Greatwood hurdle next November looks a good target. NouvoticNouvotic - 1st in 5.25 Punchestown 29/04/2026Novoutic has taken his form to a whole new level over fences. That happens more often than not with Henry De Bromhead trained horses. Henry is all about progressing horses into good chasers by giving them time to mature during their hurdling days. Nouvotic won the Grade 3 novice handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival putting in an exhibition round of jumping. He loves nice ground with this race his first run back off a winter break since winning at Wexford in October, 2025. It looks like middle distances on good ground as his bag. The fact he likes to race prominently could see this horse have a go at the Galway Plate or Kerry National if Henry thinks he would stay three miles. Whatever the plan, make sure to keep Nouvotic onside over the coming summer months. Come Walk With MeCome Walk With Me - 1st in 4.50 Punchestown 30/04/2026Edward Cawley looks to have a top class two mile chaser on his hands. Come Walk With Me has taken his form to a whole new level since returning in March off a two month break. He showed promise when second at Leopardstown and then won handicap chases well at the Fairyhouse and Punchestown Festivals. The son of Walk In the Park makes jumping fences at speed look easy for such an inexperienced young chaser. Edward said after his Punchestown win that he will have the summer off and could target Grade 3 or 2 races next season. Who knows how far he will progress as I can see him staying two and a half miles fine down the line. A horse for the spring festivals in a year's time with a bit of luck.
